Purpose
Abstract:
We all have these tracks in our lives. Of course there are birthdays that come along every year. And we take trips over the years, but start to lose track of just when we went where. How about our jobs, our education, other things that go on for years.
The purpose of LifeLines is to be able to visualize events and tracks of events in relation to each other. LifeLines is a place to store records of events, so we can see the stream of our lives and its relation to other streams of events. Use LifeLines to keep key events, so you can find that information easily.
Examples:
tl0 - Simple Example.
tl1 - Decade & Century scroll. Track Labeling.
t1 - multi-track example.
Trips - has icon, image, link for some. Reads from MySQL.

The Simile Timeline AJAXy code is almost perfect for LifeLines. I've gathered events for a few key tracks so far; Trips, Jobs, Education, and general things and started the required XML files. I created a parser in PHP that can create MySQL Insert statements from those XML event files. I've created a MySQL database with an Event table.
Next things to do:
- How to created XML from MySQL.
- Track/Band tagging?
- How to scroll larger Timelines and not lose track labels.
- Easy event input form.
- Import to MySQL from...
- Add more image/icon/link attributes to event records.
