Basement Band Days

Way back, in the dark of the basement, we practiced.  It was so cool.  It was the 60s and our heros were Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Cream, the Beatles - they were gods, we were kids.  We felt like we were in on something new and wonderful.
Jerry MacDonald's basement, December 1967.  Mark McDonald and I shared his amp.  Jerry's bass drum says "The Wall Flowers".  That's the Beatles "Sgt Pepper" album on the old radio in the background.
Out of the basement and into the backyard.  Me on the left, Jerry on drums, Tony? on bass, Mark on the rug.  Below, Mark & Jerry wearing Neru jackets.  I still have the Sears Silvertone amp.
Downtown Kenosha, Wisconsin during "Crazy Days", the "Disciples" play.  I'm wearing my Banlon shirt and neato single lace, pointy, reptile skin shoes I'm sure.  Mark McDonald & I have switched guitars for this song.  We've got Dave Parker's amp as our PA system.  My Paul McCartney style guitar had a built in fuzz tone
"Power Breaks" was the name of the band Jerry & I had with Andy Bartel and Billy Domes.  We came in second in the Battle of the Sounds competition.  Jerry won the showmanship award for his intro to the MC5 song "Rambin Rose'.

Those were some great times.
